Hybrid is not a compromise word
Hybrid delivery is useful when different parts of an initiative have different levels of certainty, risk, regulation or need for feedback. PMI explicitly recognizes predictive, adaptive and hybrid approaches and emphasizes tailoring the approach to context.

One project can contain different kinds of work
A platform migration may have a fixed production cutover and data migration plan, while customer-facing UX may need iterative prototypes and frequent stakeholder feedback.

The question is not “Agile or Waterfall?”
The better question is: “Where is uncertainty highest, where are constraints strongest, and where will feedback change the next decision?”
